The Irish Bridal Designer of the Year Awards 2008 were announced at a gala fashion show in the Royal Marine Hotel on February 10th. Ireland's brightest wedding gown designers competed in the award categories - Romantic, Traditional and Contemporary as well as the overall award for Irish Bridal Designer of the Year.
This years awards were judged by Judged by Bairbre Power, Eddie Shanahan and Leigh Tucker. The House of Delphine triumphed, winning the major award and being crowned Irish Bridal Designer of the Year for her stunning gown Juliet. Delphine also took home the prize in the Romantic category for her gold, silk and lace gown, Rebecca. Newcomer, Caroline Atelier won the Contemporary category with a gown Emmy. It's classic silhouette is enhanced by the cut out back with cross over straps and flower detail. Drogheda designer Edel Tuite won the Traditional category with her gown Medica. An elegant gown with floral waist band and wide skirt allowing for a romantic sweep. Category Winner:
